The SLANT System® for Structured Language Training is a research-based, multisensory, structured language training program combining professional development for teachers and systematic curriculum materials for students.

Garfield School in Forest Park, IL District 91 is the 2010 winner of the Illinois Branch of the International Dyslexia Association's coveted It Takes A Village Award. This award is given annually to a school providing an "exemplary program for students struggling with learning to read."
Since the award's inception in 2000, SLANT teachers have been represented in 5 of the 9 award winning schools. This year marks the second in a row that SLANT teachers are widely represented at the winning schools.
